OK, no excuses

First of all, I'd like to welcome Allyn to my blog. Apparently I'm getting some of Timmy's traffic. That's fine with me, bloggers can't be choosers. But really I couldn't choose a better lot. So welcome to all the Tim traffic. Anyway, I realize a lot of people are on some kind of Springbreak today but whatever you're doing make some time to watch the new NBC sitcom The Office with Steve Carell. Hopefully it's as funny as it looks, but either way it's worth seeing. I've got a longer post in mind, but that would only dilude the message here so how's about I hold off until tomorrow on that one. In conclusion, this paragraph in one sentence:

The Office, 8:30PM, NBC, watch it or be banished from the land!

Such is my decree.

  1. Okay, so I didn't watch The Office last night. For reasons best left to Allyn's explanation, I was watching "Little Black Book" on pay-per-view. But I taped it back at school and am wicked excited to watch it. What did you think? Did you ever see the original or are you an Office virgin like I am?

  2. Okay, so I did. And I have to say, I was a little dissapointed. It was pretty awesome overall. But I was disheartened when I realized that they aired most of the punch lines in the previews. Although there was a great zinger that came when Carell decided to use the speaker phone to talk to an old friend in the presence of his boss. I had a nice belly laugh over that one. Overall I liked the awkward pause style of comedy throughout it. I think it has potential.

And Allyn had better have a pretty damn good explanation for you watching a Britney Murphy movie with little to no redeeming skin features. As for your other question, yes I am an Office virgin. Although I was aware of the original and had read and heard great things about it. I mean, if Rory Gilmore supports the original how can I speak ill of it? I think I'll have to watch it sometime.

One side bar before I go: what the hell weight is Steve Carell/when did they shoot the Office? Because in the series he has a bit of a heavy-set apperance, but in recent interviews he looks as thin as I've ever seen him. I guess he slimmed down for his Bewitched role. Who knows.

  3. Okay, so I almost screwed myself last week. I very dilligently went through the TV listings and scheduled tapings of all the new stuff because I was going to be on break. Then of course, I screw up the first thing I schedule - SNL. I must have messed up the AM/PM thing (midnight always messes with me) and filled the entire tape with late night NBC crap. So I almost didn't get to see it.

Thank God for BitTorrent. Seriously, it's awesome.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I think it has great potential, like you said. I also have a wicked crush on Pam. Already. She's way cute. She's my second new TV crush because I'm also in love with the McDonald's "Women Are Like McGriddles" girl. The Old Navy "Let's Study" girl is so out. She won't return my calls. Anyway, The Office. Yay. I'm really happy they scheduled it after Scrubs. That's a great programming hour.

  4. Yeah, that McGriddles girl is fine. Why can't a woman try to seduce me over sweetened breakfast sandwiches? Or any sandwiches for that matter.

As far as Pam goes...I passed a message along to her. I know her aunt apparently, I was talking about The Office and the lady I was talking to said "Oh did you see that show? My neice is on it as the secretary." So I said "Pam?" and she said "yes." So, being the gentleman I am, I told her to tell her niece that I thought she was hot.

Here's the thing, I had this conversation with someone and now I can't remember (after the weekend's festivities) who I had it with. I'll retrace my steps on Thursday and hopefully track this lady down. But yeah, the post-Scrubs time slot is gravy.

  5. Dammit. Missed the show. Scott and Tim: It's your job to remind me when that's on. And I want to be reminded day of, don't do that 2 days in advance crap. That won't cut it.

  6. The day of eh? Like WHEN I POSTED THIS POST IN THE FIRST PLACE? Huh? Like that? Seems to be basically what you're looking for. And don't give me that 'oh I was busy with Ro/finding a job/thanking God I'm related to Scott on Thursday, I can't be bothered to check Scott's blog'. Because that crap won't cut it Mr.

On another tangent, I still can't remember who that woman was. She's someone I *kind of* know. One of those people who seems to know you way better than you know them. To the point that you either feel bad about it for forgetting them, or just a bit creeped out. I think in this case I felt a bit bad about it. But that doesn't help me remember who it was damn it!

*Sigh* Count to ten...work through it...alright, I'm better now. Off to my next post.
